I was nicely surprised to see the following e-mail with three honourable mentions and six nominations in seven different categories at the International Color Awards! 6,178 entries were received from 75 countries and Kerri-Jo’s work received a high percentage of votes overall.

I have entered this competition for the last three years, since I became a professional photographer, and have received at least one nomination every year. It is very encouraging to participate in a huge international competition and have my images selected by these accomplished judges! I am so grateful and inspired to be placing in this competition alongside such amazing images.

We all know that EVERYONE is a winner with WPC, just like being part of a national team at the Olympics. Having an image submitted at this level is without doubt a pinnacle of anyone’s career… medalist or not. By being recognized as a team member for WPC, the respect for the photographer is immediately on a higher plateau.

This year Kerri-Jo placed 3d at the Vancouver International Photography Festival (VIPF) in the open category with this pregnant portrait underwater image, “Ariel”.
The Professional Photographers of Canada British Columbia had their 2015 salon this past weekend. All members are invited to submit up to four images each year and a panel of judges classify the submissions as being “not accepted” into the show, “accepted” into the show where the images meet the qualifications of the PPOC-BC as professional images, “merit” images and those of “excellence”.
